I’m praying this prayer over you today. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" [Romans 15:13].
Are you feeling lonely or isolated during the Christmas season? It’s important for us to remember the hope we have in Christ. The Incarnation, God becoming a man, is the very reason why we have hope. The Son of God, came to earth to show us what love looks like. He came to be the very physical revelation of the invisible God, revealing His love, His care, and His amazing plan for our lives.
On that first Christmas, God gave us the gift of hope. This hope is not wishful thinking, "I hope it will snow on Christmas". It is a resolute certainty, "And we KNOW that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" [Romans 8:28]. This is the hope we have as a child of God.
This Christmas share the hope we have in Christ by:
H - Helping bring Jesus to someone who is hurting this Christmas season
O - Opening your heart to the lonely and lost
P - Praying for those who are going through a trying season
E - Extending your hand of love and support and walk with the lonely and hurting
"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ" [Galatians 6:2]. The law of Christ is summed up in loving God and loving people.
Much love and care,
Pastor Pat
