"Focus on Christ not Adversity"

GOOD MORNING!
DEVOTIONAL:
“My grace is sufficient, for my power is perfected in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 9: 9-10
Are you facing adversity? The apostle Paul knows something about adversity. He was stoned and dragged outside the city as if dead. He was put into prison, flogged five times with thirty-nine lashes, beaten with rods three times, shipwrecked three times, and faced dangers from robbers. Sometimes he was hungry, thirsty, and cold. But trials and adversity didn’t stop him. His commitment to his mission was unshakable. He pressed forward, focused courageously with laser focus on sharing the Good News about Christ. He fixed his eyes on Jesus, not on his adversity. No matter what was thrown at the apostle Paul, he was never taken off mission. Even while in prison, he wrote a good portion of the New Testament.
God’s grace carried him through. Paul’s strength did not come from self-confidence but from confidence in God’s promises, presence, and power. He stood strong in Jesus’ righteousness.
Satan’s strategy is to distract believers, divide the church, discourage the saints, and dishearten us in our faith. His goal is to take us off mission - which is the Great Commission. But like the apostle Paul, whatever adversity is thrown at you, God’s grace will carry you through. His grace is more than sufficient. Purpose deep down in your heart to live on mission- love God, love people, share the Good News about Christ. "Fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith" [2 Timothy 4:7].
