"He is With Us Through it All"

SPECIAL PRAYER:
Please pray for the Haitian people devastated by an earthquake on Saturday. Rescuers search for survivors as death toll climbs to 1,297.
Good Morning!
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2 [ESV]
In today’s devotional verse, the Lord reminds Isaiah - no matter what has happened in our lives, we can be comforted that God is there. He hears our cries and wants us to run to Him. He enters into our pain with us.
Though tough times will come, they will also come to an end, or at least become more bearable through God’s presence. With each description of the struggles, Isaiah says that you will “pass through” and “walk through.” You are not going to stay there. You are passing through this season of struggle. The Lord promises, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness" [2 Corinthians 12:9]. God says this: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” What a promise! What a word of encouragement! What a truth to hang on to! No matter what you go through, you never have to go through it alone. The Lord’s presence [grace] will strengthen and sustain you. He will comfort and direct you. He will not leave you to work through it by yourself. He will be with you.
Sometimes it is hard to grab hold of the promises that God makes to us, especially when it seems like everything in life is going against us. But these promises are what brings sanity when everything goes crazy. By faith, grab hold of these promises and never let them go. You can make it through these tough days. God is with you. He is our strength, our comforter, our peace, and our hope. The God who redeemed us – the God who called our name – the God to whom we belong – He will be with us and He will bring us through.
