Oftentimes when people came to Jesus, they would ask Him for mercy. Let's look at some examples...
"And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto Him, saying, have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil." Matthew 15:22
"And when they were come to the multitude, there came to Him a certain man, kneeling down to Him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is a lunatic, and sore vexed: for oftentimes he falls into the fire, and often into the water." Matthew 17:14-15
"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee." Psalm 86:5
Apostle Paul also refers to God as the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort (2nd Corinthians 1:3).
Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we have been granted access to come to the throne of God boldly and obtain mercy and grace in our time of need, so let's take rest in His mercy today!
