"No Time to Waste"

GOOD MORNING!
“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.” Colossians 4:5
There is a sense of urgency in today’s devotional Scripture. We are encouraged to make the best use of the time the LORD gives us as we engage with unbelievers. It is a similar idea to what Paul writes in Ephesians 5:15-16, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time because the days are evil.”
What does Paul mean here?
He means we should not squander our time but instead, steward it. We should not live in a way that presumes upon an infinite amount of time. Urgency clarifies our thinking and priorities. Knowing that the days are short (and evil), people are dying and going to hell, and we have the message of eternal life, we must live with intentionality around unbelievers. We’re not to waste our time but rather redeem it and use it wisely, by loving God and others by ordering our life around the mission of the gospel. "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:30).
