"For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’" Isaiah 40:13
What reassures you in times of difficulty and hardship? What gives you comfort in the midst of incredible pain? From what source of strength do you draw when suffering is a reality in your life? "For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you’" [Isaiah 40:13]. The "right hand" is symbolic of authority, sovereignty, blessing, and strength and is significant in Scripture.
In the midst of your difficulty and pain the all-powerful hand of our Savior is holding your hand. Fear not, God is with you. Fear not, God is your God. Fear not, God will strengthen you. Fear not, God will help you. Like the psalmist, we can say with confidence, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me" [Psalm 23:4].
Our gracious Savior offers you His right hand - take hold of it. Jesus invites you, "Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light" [Matthew 11:28-30].
Fear not, God holds your right hand! True!
